Last chance to make changes in FP4 sees only a few improvers.

The final opportunity to tweak things ahead of this afternoon’s Tissot-Superpole sessions saw only a few WorldSBK riders go faster than they had managed during the weekend so far, as they all focused on race set-up during the 30 minute session which was eventually headed by Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team). The current leader of this year’s championship matching his time from FP3.

Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) was a mere 0.039s behind his team mate with Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team), Niccolo Canepa (Althea Racing), Davide Giugliano (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team), and Jordi Torres (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) completing the top six.

Leon Haslam on the second factory Aprilia was 7th ahead of Alex Lowes who was once again impressive in the closing minutes of the session aboard his Voltcom Crescent Suzuki.

Ayrton Badovini (BMW Motorrad Italia) and the improving Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) were 9th and 10th respectively.

Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda World Superbike Team) and compatriot Randy de Puniet (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) both fell early in the session, without injury, both were on personal improving laps when they slid out of contention but both should be back on track during Superpole. They ended FP4 in 11th and 15th.

The Tissot-Superpole sessions are set to begin at 1500 local time.
